AIET will participate at the inaugural seminar of the Hydrogen Utilisation & Green Energy Project as partner of SEAFUEL project.

The Tenerife Energy Agecny (AIET) will participate as responsible for the communication of the SEAFUEL project – Sustainable integration of renewable fuels in local transport, co-financed by the 2014-2020 INTERREG Atlantic Area programme, in this seminar that will take place on July 16, 2019 in the Irish city of Galway and will be the official launch of the Hydrogen Utilisation & Green Energy (HUGE) project, a 2014 – 2020 INTERREG VB Northern Periphery and Arctic European Hydrogen related project.
AIET staff will join this event, together with other SEAFUEL project partners, to enforce the importance of building links between partner regions and share experiences regarding the use of hydrogen production, distribution and use in neighbouring areas. This will be the second time that the SEAFUEL partners collaborate in the launch of a hydrogen related project in Europe, after taking part in the inaugural workshop of the Hydrogen Territories Platform, where the EU funded Building Innovative Green Hydrogen Systems in an Isolated Territory (BIG HIT) project was kicked off.
The seminar will bring together stakeholders from Ireland and Northern Ireland to discuss opportunities and challenges for the deployment of hydrogen technologies in rural and peripheral regions. SEAFUEL partners will share their acquired knowledge in green hydrogen production via excess wind and/or solar energy and its use in transportation. Other uses such as power-to-gas, energy storage and gas for industries, among others will also be discussed during the seminar.
